Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass bagged the 2nd position at the National Level reading competition named the ‘Oxford Big Read, 2019’ with six of its skillful students grabbing national accolades for their amazing work.
In Level – 1, Rishaan Chakravorty of class III and Aarunya Dange of class III won the 1st & the 3rd prizes respectively. In Level – 2, Shyaan Mallick of class IV secured the 1st prize whereas Manini Dixit of class V won the 3rd prize. Last but not the least, Aditya Sharan of class 9 along with Tanisha Sangtani of class 9 jointly racked up the 2nd prize in the 3rd category i.e. Level – 3. They now advance to the Asian round. The winners were presented with books and certificates by the Oxford University Press.  The Oxford University Press conducted a reading competition named the ‘Oxford Big Read, 2019’ in February, 2019 in which more than 50 schools participated at the pan-India level. The ‘Big Read’ encouraged primary and secondary students to explore their creative writing skills and enhance their literary talents as they designed book covers and wrote reviews.
The global competition had 3 categories viz. Level – 1, Level – 2 and Level – 3 for classes 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9 respectively. The participants were evaluated on the basis of creativity, imagination, originality of tone and style which was then adjudged by an expert panel of jury.
Principal, Radhika Mehra, Vice-Principals, Perveen Cassad and Anita Sharma, and the staff commended the children on their success and wished them the best for the forthcoming level.
