The students of PGDMLT course conducted at Rashtrasant Tukdoji Tertiary Cancer Care Centre and Research Centre Nagpur excelled in the recently held summer examinations by Board of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra. Result was 100% with all the 20 students passing in 1st Division. Sneha Punaji Bhajbhuje with 82.09% is the topper in the class followed by Trupti Chakhole with 81.55%.
The Teaching Department of RST Cancer Hospital conducts 3 PG Diploma Courses in Laboratory Medicine, Radiotherapy Technicians & Radiography with an intake capacity of 20, 20 and 60 respectively. Whereas PGDMLT and PGDRTT Courses were being run since 2004, PG Diploma in Radiography and Sonography Techniques was started a year back. There is very good response and demand to these courses as there is ample opportunity for employment with a large no. of multispecialty and cancer hospitals coming up in various parts of the country.
Dr. Subhrajit Dasgupta, Director of RST who is also Principal of the college complimented the students for their excellent performance. He added that the management has created a totally new infrastructure for the students with 3 Air conditioned class rooms, Library, Office Canteen etc. Dr. Dasgupta also appreciated the efforts of Dr. B. K. Sharma (Vice Principal) Dr. Devidas Doifode (Teaching Coordinator) & all faculty members.
Looking into heavy demand of such courses the department has applied for enhancement in seats which is likely to be sanctioned from this academic session.
