Vidarbha Automobile Dealers Association initiative aims to Save 22 Lakh Liters of Water per month by using dry wash and recycled water. VADA members seek partnership from all citizens by Opting for Dry Wash Method, as Orange city is facing one of its biggest crises of Water shortage with a never before situation of water supply cut. Automobile customers get their vehicles serviced regularly and we as automobile dealers ensure that after repairs the vehicles are delivered in a clean and shiny condition informed in a press conference held at Press Club.
Vehicle wash has usage of water on a regular basis and although we use 70-80% of recycled the water from our ETP plants there is quite a reasonable of water that we consume for our servicing operations they informed.
Looking at the Current water crisis of our city and being responsible corporate citizens of Nagpur, the members of Vidarbha Automobile Dealers Association have decided to adopt the dry wash methodology of vehicle cleaning from July 20 to August 21.
Waterless car wash or dry wash is a method of cleaning the car in an eco-friendly way with no water or minimum water at no extra cost to the customers. Dry wash system help to reduce the washing time improve the final wash quality and reduce water consumption and we plan to implement this wash system across all our Members by July 21
This method of cleaning can help in reducing the water consumption across the entire car and two wheeler dealerships in Nagpur. With this Initiative we are confident of Converting at least 50% of the vehicles that we service today and the balance 50% of Customer who do not opt for Dry Wash will be offered conventional wash which will be done by existing recycled water.
VADA members will be training all our Service Staff on the Dry Wash Method and will then motivate customers to opt for dry wash thereby partnering in helping Save Nagpur city’s water resources. 21 major cities are poised to run out of groundwater next year, according to a 2018 report by government-run think tank NITI Aayog.
With nearly 600 million Indians facing high-to-extreme water stress – where more than 40 percent of the annually available surface water is used every year the situation is likely to worsen as the demand for water will exceed the supply by 2050.
We would not want our city of Nagpur to ever face that situation and as responsible citizens have decided to act today and seek the co-operation of all citizens in helping us in this initiative by opting for dry wash method when getting your vehicle serviced.
