Centre Point School Dabha showed their dominance by winning primary boys, primary girls and high school girls titles in the 11th St. Vincent Pallotti Memorial Nagpur District Inter-School Team and Junior College (Individual) Chess Championship that was organised in association with NDCA on Friday.
In the primary boys section, CPS Dabha team comprising Sanskar Gaigore, Arush Chitre, Aarav Bhartia, and Shaurya Divecha secured highest 22 points. They were followed by BVM Civil Lines with 19.5 points and CPS Dabha ‘B’ with 15.
In the primary girl’s section, CPS Dabha won the title with 16.5 points. The team was represented by Divyanshi chandankhede, Swara Gaigore, Anushka Kapse, and Suksha Vasudev. Host Pallotti School (15) and Somalwar Nikalas ‘A’ (13.5) finished second and third respectively.
In the high school boys section, Somalwar Nikalas ‘A’ team consisting Vyankatesh Dande, Manthan Kale, Prathmesh Lohit and Rushikesh Lohit triumphed with 20.5 points. CPS Dabha ‘A’ finished runners-up with 18.5 points while Sandipani ‘A’ secured third place. In the girl’s section, CPS Dabha achieved first place with 18 points. The team members were Aishita Chhabda, Himani Jethwani, Yashika Chandankhede, and Krishna Taori. BSM Ashti (14) and Somalwar Nikalas ‘A’ (11). finished second and third. In junior college section, Sumedh Ramteke triumphed with 5 points.
The Closing ceremony was graced by national record holder in hurdles Nisha Menon. Principal Rev. Fr. Joseph Koovely, Vice-principal Rev. Fr. Linchu Paul, chief arbiter Pravin Pantawane and organising secretary Chhaya Janbandhu were also present on the occasion.
