A commercial complex built by Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), in Gokulpeth is at its depressed state as the construction of the building is getting collapsed and has many other complications which are a threat to people residing in the complex. At present, the ceilings of building have started collapsing and rainwater has entered the basement area.
The traders in the building have already filed a complaint of the ongoing issue to NIT but are being totally ignored by the authorities.
Gokulpeth commercial complex was built in 1968 and has never been looked after by either of the authorities of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) or NIT. The NMC and NIT are regularly collecting taxes but are not providing upgraded facilities at the complex which are necessary to carry out the business, alleged the traders.
The pillars of the complex are being damaged due to waterlogging problem and even the rotten garbage is not being collected. The rainwater in the basement has already reached the electricity box developing a risk of electrocution in the building.
Even though the complex has got an NIT office and Hallmark Warehouse, the commercial complex seems far from the renovation and a development plan.
President of the building, Rameshkumar Dave said, on behalf of the whole commercial complex committee I have already submitted a written complaint to NIT but till date, no efforts have been made to improve the demolishing conditions of the complex. The situation is getting worst day by day and no NMC official has visited the mentioned location to inspect the gloomy scenario. Â Â Â
