Collector Ashwin Mudgal issued stern directives to taken strict actions immediately on bogus and unregistered medical practitioners in the district as it is imperative to protect the patients from these quacks.
A meeting was held in the collector office to put check on the bogus and fake medical practitioners by the district level review committee which is responsible for the prevention of quacks. Civil surgeon Dr Devendra Paturkar, district health officer Dr Deepak Selokar and officers from the health department were present in the meeting.
Ashwin Mudgal said that various misleading advertisements are published in the urban and rural areas by the quacks. The concerned departments must take strict actions on them. The officers of concerned committee should pay visit to the villages and ensure that no quacks practice over there and if found offenses should be registered against them immediately.
It was informed in the meeting that 4 offenses were registered against quacks in 2017 and 2 in 2018 and actions have also been taken on the complaints filed with the taluka level committee
