The PhD entrance test (PET 1) would be held from August 19. The Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has announced the schedule for the entrance exams. According to the varsity circular, PET 1 would be conducted online from August 19 to August 21 while offline exam (PET 2) would be conducted on September 6.
The application process for PET-1 has begun. Students can apply online by August 6. After online application, the candidates will have to submit the hard copy of the application till 9th ​​August in the examination department of the University. Students who fail to submit the hard copy will not be allowed to take the examination. After examining the applications, eligible candidates will be issued online admit cards on August 13. Results of PET -1 will be announced on August 23. A list of eligible candidates for PET- 2 will be issued on August 23. Admit cards for PET 2 will be issued afterwards.
The second phase of the PhD entrance test would be offline and will have subject wise questions. Results will be announced on September 20.
Meanwhile, the varsity has made some changes in the PhD entrance process. Several members of the Senate and Academic Council had expressed their concerns about the PhD registration and other related rules.
At the same time, the demand for relaxation and amendment in some rules was made. Sources said that in view of the demands of the members, a meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Dr. SP Kane. Some rules have been amended but the Varsity management has not yet revealed the changes made in the rules.
