DNC ‘A’, Shakti ‘A’ enter final

Dhanwate National College (DNC) ‘A’ team set up a title clash with host Shakti Club ‘A’ in the team championship event of the ongoing Shruti Club Open Ranking Table Tennis Tournament organised under the auspices of Nagpur District Table Tennis Association at Shakti Club TT hall, here on Sunday.

In the first semi-final, DNC ‘A’ overcame Shakti ‘B’ 3-1. Pranav Kale gave winning start to DNC defeating Anadee Shende 11-3,11-5, However in the second single, Akshay Lingayat lost to  Vaibhav Rane 7-11,7-11. Then in the doubles, Pranav pairing with Akshay turned the tables on  Vaibhav-Manas Soman 11-6,13-11. In the reserse single, Pranav eliminated Vaibhav 11-7,11-6 and ensured the final spot.

In the second semi-final, Shakti ‘A’ blanked RSKTT Golden 3-0. Kaustubh Udar downed Ikshika Umate 11-5,11-8 to give 1-0 lead to Shakti. Jayesh Kulkarni made a light work of  Aarush Meshram 11-6,11-6. In the doubles, Yash Dhote- Jayesh Kulkarni edged out Sarah – Ikshika 11-6,11-9.

Anagh Bhondwe and Jennifer Verghese won cadet boys and girls singles titles respectively. In the boys final, Bhondwe recorded 11-4, 11-0, 11-5 win over Aarush Meshram. Jennifer, living up to her reputation, got rid of  Ikshika Umate 11-3,11-7,11-3 to claim the crown.
