Echo Nagpur-2019 Summit concludes
Through Echo Cardiography the fat around the heart can be seen. If there is fat, there is a 40 percent chance of a heart attack. Further, heart failure means the capacity of pumping blood becomes interrupted.
However with the doctor’s recommendations, if Echo Cardiography is conducted in time and the disease is identified and treatment is taken, heart failure could be avoided, stated by renowned London based cardiologist Dr Roxy Senior.
Cardiological society of India (CSI) Vidarbha chapter had organized a three-day Echo Nagpur-2019 summit which concluded on Sunday. Cardiologist Dr Shantanu Sengupta said that diabetics do not perspire or feel pain in the chest during a heart attack. As the veins already have problems, the symptoms are vague among diabetes. To avoid this, aged diabetics should conduct the Echo every year. Cardiovascular and stress are the most common reasons for death among aged diabetics.
Long term glucose in the blood, damages the blood vessels especially the coronary artery. The risk of heart attack increases with age among diabetics, he said. Cardiologists Drs K Chandra, Amuthan, Nitin Burkule, C K Ghode, Debika Agrawal, C G Vijayraghavan, J C Mohan, Samir Shrivastav, Satish Parashar also spoke on various topics. Dr Sengupta, Mahesh Phulwani, Manish Bansal, Mukund Deshpande and others played an important role in the summit. Total 350 doctors participated in the summit. Modern equipment for diagnosis Heart failure is a serious and incurable condition.
However if the disease is diagnosed and treated in time, there is little chance of
admission in hospital and life span can increase. In this Echo is significant as it diagnoses promptly and decides further treatment.
