On the eve of 73rd Independence Day, Maha Metro started a trial run on ‘Aqua Route’ from Subhash Nagar to Sitabuldi Interchange station.
The Metro test was conducted to check the efficacy of the installed system. The journey started from Subhash Nagar station at 8:15 am and culminated at Sitabuldi interchange station which is part of Reach-3. Metro officials and city journalists were the passengers for the trial run.
Meanwhile, work on Metro stations in many areas is still on. The priority is being given to completion of track work. So far, the Subhash Nagar and Institute of Engineers station and Jhansi Rani Square are close to completion.
Other stations on the route including that of Gandhinagar, Shankar Nagar, and those en route to Hingna will take few more months to complete.
