The Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL) has warned people against the fraudsters offering jobs in the Coal India Ltd. These fraudsters charge fees from the job seekers and at times extort money from them too promising good job and handsome salary. However, job seekers end up losing money and time.
Several incidents had come to light in the past in which unemployed youths were duped promising jobs in the public sector undertakings like Coal India. The scamsters often target youths and unemployed by publishing job vacancies in media. Two days ago a similar advertisement was published in which the publisher had claimed that there are 88,585 openings in the South Central Coalfields Ltd, which was claimed to be a subsidiary of Coal India like WCL. The logo of Coal India was also used to deceive the job seekers.
In a clarification issued by the Coal major, it was stated that Coal India does not have any subsidiary in the name of South Central Coalfields Ltd. Among the eight subsidiaries of the firm include – Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL), Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL), Central Mining Planing and Design Institute Ltd (CMPDIL), Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL), Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL), Northern Coalfields Ltd (NCL), South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL) and Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL).
Hence job aspirants should remain alert while applying for job in Coal India and not to fall prey to fraudsters. The CIL statement said, aspirants must check the credentials of the company which has issued the advertisement and  get details of job openings.
Coal India Ltd and all its subsidiaries list job openings on their respective official websites along with leading newspapers and other media platforms. Hence, do check the details of job vacancies on official websites of the Coal India and its subsidiaries before applying for any job.
