Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s PhD registration pre-entrance examination (PET) received lukewarm response from the aspiring researchers on the first day. Only 1800 candidates have registered this time for the examination, of which nearly 22% remained absent on the first day of the PET.
However, the university has not yet released the number of candidates. Sources said, exact figures will be released by the Nagpur University along with the result. Sources said that most of the candidates are from Engineering, Pharmacy and MBA.This time there has been a sharp decline in the number of candidates appearing for the examination from the Humanities and Inter-disciplinary Faculty. There has been a slight decline in the number of candidates taking the PET from the science faculty.
A large number of candidates were absent in both the sessions of the examination held on Monday. The University Examination Department has claimed that the first day of the examination passed peacefully. No problems have been reported.
It is worth mentioning that last year, more than 3500 candidates had participated in the PET conducted by the university.
