An unclaimed tiffin box lying near the escalator at the Airport South Metro Station on Tuesday caused panic among the metro officials and commuters.
The tiffin box was first spotted by a sanitation worker, Pankaj, at an empty space near the station escalator while he was cleaning the place. Without wasting any time, he immediately informed the station controller Shashank Patil who reached the spot with security personnel.
Patil immediately reported it to the Bomb Squad. After about 30 minutes the squad reached the scene, cordoned off the area and vacated the station complex.
Upon receiving the information, the police team and ambulance had also arrived at the scene. After examining the squad, it was confirmed that the tiffin contains nothing suspicious.
It is worth mentioning, that a mock drill is conducted at the metro station to ensure the safety and vigilance of the Metro Station. So far 350 mock drills have been conducted by the Maha Metro.
