Trogons at The Royal Gondwana Public School (CBSE), Shankarpur, Nagpur enjoyed the instrumental musical fest. The Sarod Maestro Smit Tiwari played melodious tunes based on different ragas and was accompanied by Tabla Maestro Bhushan Parchure.
The programme started with garlanding of Goddess Saraswati and lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.
Trogons were informed about the history of instrument Sarod and also detailed as to the number of strings, shape, material used to prepare the instrument. Then the maestro explained and played Shudha Sarang & Miya Malhar raga. He asked the students to join in vocal singing. Aalap, Jod and Jhala were also explained to the trogons and students got motivated to respond in chorus. While interacting with students improvisations were explained by Smit Tiwari.
Sarod Maestro praised the efforts taken by School management to provide the opportunity to the students in order to seek a rendezvous with Great Musical & Cultural heritage of our beloved motherland. He said that music can cause transformation in such a way that it has the soothing effect that provides the much needed relief to the person suffering from agonies of different kind and calms them down to discipline. He advises students to practice (Riyaz) consistently to master any art.
