Former union minister Praful Patel has been unanimously elected as the president of the Western India Football Association (WIFA) for another term ahead of the annual general body meeting of the association to be held in the city on Friday.
Nagpur District Football Association president Harish Vora and secretary Iqbal Kashmiri were also unanimously elected as vice-president and executive committee members respectively.
The AGM will be held at 3 p.m. at Chitnivis Centre, Civil Lines to elect the executive committee for a five-year term i.e. 2019 to 2023. Now it is just a formality to announce the new body.
Vora will continue as vice-president for one more term whereas Iqbal Kashmiri has been elected in the State body for the first time. It is learned that an observer from the All India Football Federation will also attend the meeting.
