People are aware of the bad medical conditions prevailing in the rural area as no quality medical service are been provided to the residents of the rural areas. The task of providing medical equipment to the hospital of these areas was given to the Public Health Department.
However, the Government has avoided an important issue for a long time. As a result, the majority of the doctors are hesitant to serve in rural areas and this is one of the major reasons for the number of vacancies there.
The doctors serving in these rural area being neglected as they have not received their salaries for the last three months due to which they are on the verge of starvation.
No efforts are being made by the public health department to improve health care services in rural areas. Not only the doctors but also the patients are disappointed in government hospitals.
According to the sources, the post of Administrative officer in Zilla Parishad health department is vacant and the clerks are not responsible for paying salaries to the doctors and therefore the doctors have not received their paychecks yet.
Maharashtra Gazetted Medical Officer Class A (MAGMO) has submitted a memorandum in this issue to the District Health Officer, Dr. Deepak Selokar and has assured the doctors that the salaries would be given soon.
