The Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the Startup fest on the second day of ‘InnovationParv’ organised by Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
‘Start Up Fest’ and ‘The Accelerate’ have been organised under the ‘Innovation Parv’ an initiative by Nagpur Municipal Corporation in collaboration with the Mayor Innovation Council. The festival that started on August 23 is held at the Mankapur Indoor Stadium. Gadkari was the chief guest for today’s ‘Start-Up Fest’.
Mayor Nanda Jhichkar, Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar, Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, Director of Innovation Department of the Union Ministry of Manpower Development Mohit Gambhir, famous Marathi actors Bharat Ganeshpure and Sandeep Kulkarni were present at the fest today.
While addressing on the occasion, Gadkari said, “It is in the hands of the youth of Vidarbha to develop their skills, abilities and take advantage of such opportunities available. They should not become job seekers but must aim to become entrepreneurs.
Among the innovative ideas, BioCNG projects will soon be implemented by the NMC. Under BioCNG project, 350 buses, 150 trucks will be operated with the use of the bio-CNG produced by Biodigester process from municipal West. This will save around 60 crores annuallyâ€. Recently the SpiceJet aircraft successfully completed the distance from Delhi to Dehradun with the help of Biofuel Mixed Aviation Fuel, Gadkari added.
The schemes of the Government of, ‘Start up Make in India’, ‘Stand Up India’, ‘Mudra’ are for the youth and to support their ideas. The municipality is implementing Rain Harvesting initiatives which is suggested by the youth, he added.
Information about startups was also given on the occasion. Local representatives, councilors and school students were present in large numbers at the event.
