At a well-attended function Vidarbha Cricket Association felicitated Gurudas Raut , for being member of the winning India Team at the Physical Disability World Series Cricket Tournament 2019 at England.
Gurudas was presented a memento and a cheque of Rs.2.00 lakhs by VCA president Anand Jaiswal and vice president Prashant Vaidya.
Acknowledging the felicitation Gurudas recounted his early struggle as a physically challenged cricket player who he said was questioned about his ability at every step. But answering his inner call Gurudas achieved his calling to become a cricketer and to represent India despite all odds. Gurudas acknowledged the sacrifices of his mother and aunty in achieving the pinnacle of cricketing glory. He also acknowledged the help and support of Vidarbha Cricket Association. Speaking on the occasion Prashant Vaidya asked the young cricketers present, to follow Gurudas’s example and spirit.
Anand Jaiswal lauded Gurudas’s singular determination and assured that VCA will help and encourage physically challenged cricketer of Vidarbha in any way possible.
Also present at the felicitation were Gurudas’s family, Ravi Chauhan, Hon.Secretary of All India Disabled Cricketer’s Association and Uttam Mishra President, Maharashtra Disabled Cricketer’s Association.
