Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the new Metro route, Rach 3, Aqua-Line on September 7. The Aqua Line will be the Hingna route which will cover all the stops from Lokmanya Nagar to Sitabuldi. According to the reports, an inauguration ceremony will take place at Yashwant Stadium on the decided date, by the Government of Maharashtra.
It was confirmed about the tour of PM Modi by the Maharashtra Government on Tuesday. An invitation was sent to the Prime Minister’s Office PMO and the acceptance for the inauguration ceremony was later confirmed by the state government
The first round of test of the track was done by Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) while the second and a final inspection visit will be done by the end of August. The Lokmanya Nagar to Sitabuldi route will be getting its certificate for commercial services by the first week of September.
The Reach 3, Hinga route is of 19.40 km having 20 stations. But the initial inauguration will be done for 10.50 km with 10 stations open to use which include Sitabuldi Jhansi Rani, Institute of Science, Shankar Nagar, LAD (Gandhi Nagar), Dharampeth Science (Ambazari T-point), Subhash Nagar, Rachna Ring road, Bansi Nagar, and Lomanya Nagar.
