Talented shuttler of the city Rohan Gurbani has been selected in the Indian team for the BWF World Junior U-19 Badminton Championship slated to be held at Kazan in Russia from September 30 to 13.
The Mixed Team Championship will be played from September 30 to October 5, while the individual events will take place from October 7 to 13. Rohan will undergo a two-week conditioning coaching camp before the entire team travels to Kazan on September 28.
Rohan, a Standard XI student of Sandipani High School, Hazaripahad, will be the first city male player to represent the country in singles at the Junior Worlds. In 2017, Sourabh Kerhalkar became the first boy to represent the country at the Jr Worlds when he played in Indonesia as a mixed doubles player.
