The elections for the state legislative assembly are right around the corner for which the district administration has begun in right earnest preparations. A primary round of check-up of electronic voting machine (EVM) and voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) has been done already on Tuesday, the administration has concluded a mock poll on Wednesday.
The EVM’s were checked in a month-long process which was started on July 30 and ended on August 31 at the APMC market yard in Kalamna in eastern end of the city, this information of the procedure was provided by the election commission.
Each machine was tested by the personel from the manufacturer Bharat electronics limited, Bengaluru. Police officials were present during the checking of EVMs and VVPATs along with the representatives of all recognized state and national political parties.
The government release said, there are already unused and reserved EVM and VVPAT in stock over which we have added a fresh stock of BU-6470, CU-4830 and VVPATs 5140 series from Uttar Pradesh.
