The three-day festival of Mahalakshmi is being celebrated by the citizens from September 5. Under this festival, Mahalaxmi is welcomed along the lines as ‘Mahalakshmi Aali Gharat Sonyachaya Payani, Bharti Gheon Aali, Sarvamsadhi Gheon Aali’. 
Mahalaxmi festivity is celebrated amidst the 10 day Ganesh Utsav. Mahalaxmi celebrated for three days from the 4th day of Ganesh Chaturthi. Even the heavy rains could not dampen the high spirits of the devotees.
Devotees organize a three-day Mahalakshmi festival with the desire for happiness and prosperity. This tradition has been going on for many generations especially in Maharashtrian community. The houses are beautifully decorated during Mahalakshmi and various events are organized for three days.
In these three days, the idols of Mahalakshmi Jyestha and Kanishka will be specially decorated. Mahalakshmi will be duly immersed on September 7, 2019. Along with this, Ganeshji is also immersed by most of the families. In the farewell of Mahalakshmi ji, dal-rice, vermicelli kheer will be offered.
