Big relief to Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) as the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) has issued an Occupancy Certificate (OC) to VCA’s Jamtha International Cricket Stadium. This certificate will now allow VCA to use the stadium legally and without any question of permissions hanging over its head.
On issuing the certificate to VCA on Tuesday, NMRDA has set three riders, one of which says that VCA has to let go a part of its stadium land for a proposed road in the development plan (DP) of the Maha metro.
According to the information provided by NMRDA, a 24 m wide road is said to be constructed under DP. This road will run parallel to the present Wardha road.
There is still a major certificate left to be collected by VCA as it still lacks the ‘consent to operate’ certificate; which is issued by Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB).
This certificate is a mandatory document that was supposed to be sought out before getting the OC. The certificate is very necessary for VCA as it has a humongous structure like a stadium.
