Mother Dairy is fighting for the natural cause of mother earth, as they are working hard enough to collect the plastic and recycle it for betterment. Mother Dairy has appointed an NGO known as the Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) for the collection of plastic waste. This agency collects plastic and other types of waste like glass bottles, pet bottles and tetra packets from the market and then recycle it to manufacture plastic items such as buckets and chairs.
The IPCA is actively working in two parts of the Maharashtra state, which is in Nagpur and Mumbai. But the whole plan of ‘action for the collection and recycling of post-consumer plastic’ is done across the country. Besides Maharashtra, this plan has been initiated in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Bihar.
Mother Dairy has installed more than 2000 vending machines that generate plastic on a large scale and hence to tackle a large amount of plastic deposition in the soil. Mother dairy has come up with plastic waste collection and recycling of the product in Maharashtra in the month of June 2018.
Ranjeet Rathod, Unit Head told TLN that they have asked IPCA to collect the amount of polythene that is generated during the production of Mother Dairy Products from the market and reprocessed it. During the reprocess the plastic is ground and then converted into a new by-product.
