The election commission of India has recently announced the upcoming state election and to be issued notification on Friday, September 27 in Maharashtra. And ahead of assembly polls, the district administration and the state police department have started the preparations for the peaceful and smooth functioning of the election.
Nagpur district consists of overall 12 seats including six constituencies in Nagpur city. The district administration has verified the arrangements for the candidates to file the nominations in respective constituencies till October 4, as per the directives by the Election Commission of India.
The last date for the submission of nomination is October 4 and the scrutiny is done on October 5. And the last date of withdrawal is October 7. The polling is scheduled in 12 constituencies of Nagpur on October 21, and the counting will be done on October 24. The police department is imparting training to officials and they are taking measures to curb the criminal activity and nuisance during polls.
As per the source, around 1610 vehicles are required for the smooth function of the polls. To date, the election department has received 200 vehicles. But many departments are reluctant to provide the vehicles. So, the election department is preparing to make a strong action against those who are creating a hurdle for the election, and they formed a squad comprises traffic police and RTO officials for capturing the vehicles for the officials who are not ready to provide the vehicle for the same, because it is a national duty.
