An inspiring journey of 13 years
We Indians are celebration lovers. Trying to celebrate an event called life, Indian culture developed a specialized culture full of zest and joy. It includes not only dance and music but giving lectures and others. Celebrating Navratri Utsav with maintaining our cultural heritage, Rani Lakshmibai Durga Utsav Mandal is there in the first place. It is not about celebrating social functions like Durgapuja but to communicate new thoughts, social awareness, our rich history, entertainment and most important is to start a thought process in society especially young generations. Every year the Navratri Utsav of Rani Lakshmibai durgotsav Mandal is devoted to the freedom fighters of our great nation and that is the exclusiveness of this event. Mandal tries to showcase their life and work.
This exhibition is the biggest attraction for Nagpur enthusiasts. Literacy awareness, environment conservation and child labour issues are taken for decoration. Rani Lakshmibai Durga Utsav Mandal is the only one of its type in Vidarbham, who organizes informative yet entertaining programmes.
This year the theme of decoration is India’s space research and other related innovations. Ghatsthapna will be done on Sunday 29th September 2019 with zestful beats of Shivmudra DholTasha Pathak. An exhibition on Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj photographs will be inaugurated on the same day in the evening at 7 o’clock. East Lakshmi Nagar Volleyball Ground will be the venue for all events.

About Mandal:
Ever since its inception in 2006, Rani Laxmibai Durga Utsav Mandal, conducts and supports various socio-cultural activities throughout the year like visiting ‘Matoshree Old Age Home’ near Adasa and helping them with medicines and food grains, visiting ‘Platform School’ and helping the children with books and study material, cleaning the Laxmi Nagar Volleyball Ground by members themselves, after the festival, under ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ launched by honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and setting up artificial tanks on Laxmi Nagar Ground for immersion of Ganesh Idols to save the precious water bodies from getting polluted every year.
Even our members celebrate birthdays of their kids and other functions at these places with a view to lend a helping hand to them, emotionally and financially, as a part of our social responsibility. Additionally, we also conduct blood donation and tree plantation camps every year that also evoked an overwhelming response from the locals.
In 2014, we had invited ‘Sanmvedna School of Autism’ that works for autistic (Divyang) children, to partner us in the event, as a part of our social responsibility. We helped them to raise the funds for poor autistics kids from our platform. Last year, we had associated with Matoshree Old Age home, to raise the funds for them.
Fittingly, a host of dignitaries and celebrities make a point to visit our Mandal every year. It included, union minister for road transport and shipping Nitin Gadkari, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, former MP Vijay Darda, former Bollywood star Asha Parekh, renowned cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar, journalist Dwarkanath Sanzgiri, noted singer Milind Ingle (Gartva fame), Sa re Ga Ma fame singers – Rahul Saxena and Vaishali Made, Marathi actress Kishori Shahane, Mayor Pravin Datke, renowned homoeopath Dr Vilas Dangre, Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Sancheti, Marathi actor Rahul Solapurkar, actor and orator Sharad Ponkshe, singer Shravani Ravindra, singer Vaishali Samant (Dhagala Lagli Kala fame), actor Vijay Kadam and Sandip Pathak, MLC Anil Sole, and others.
However, without your cooperation, coordination and blessings, we couldn’t have been successful in all these years. This year as well, we seek your support and blessings and more importantly, your participation in all our events, to make them successful.
We invite all citizens of Nagpur to get associated with us in this noble cause and spread the message of peace, unity and brotherhood.
