Ahead of state assembly polls, Congress has got a jolt as Gopaldas Agrawal, a senior politician who has been the Congress MLA for 27 years, has decided to resign from the party. And he sent his resignation to party chief Sonia Gandhi via fax on Monday. Agrawal has also sent his resignation to Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagde.
For the past several months, there was uncertainty shrouded over the politics of Gondia district, this resulted in the resignation of MLA Agrawal. As per information, he is all set to make his entry in Bhartiya Janta Party. And today he along with his supporters will be joining BJP’s divisional office in Nagpur in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at 7 pm. And it has been reported that many party workers reached the city today morning to attend the event.
Here, it is worth mentioning that for the last 27 years, MLA Agrawal had been playing the role of a politician in the shadow of the Congress. Finally, he made up his mind to leave his old bastion and decided to join BJP.
