Chunharmeet Sokhi clinched the double crown in Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Amateur Badminton Championship 2019 that concluded at Dhanwate National College indoor hall, here on Monday.
Sokhi won both Under-15 boys singles as well as doubles title. In the singles final he defeated Aaditya Gadge 21-15, 21-16.
Then in the doubles pairing with Sahil Jalgaonkar he overcame Adwait Mistri and Harshwardhan Shende 21-15, 21-18. Sparsh Nandanwar, Poorva Mohite, Varun Kolte, Siya Kongre, Taniya Patwardhan and Aastha triumphed in their respective categories.
Member of Management Council, RTMNU Dr. Nitin Kongre was the chief guest of the prize distribution function. NDBA secretary Mangesh Kashikar, DNC principal Dr. Surendra Jichkar, Dr. Devendra Wankhede, Gurdeep Singh Arora, Bhavana Agrey, Sneha Faizpurkar, Uddhao Thaokar, and others were also present on the occasion. Dr. Subhash Dadhe conducted the proceedings while Jayant Jichkar proposed a vote of thanks.
