The deprived condition of the ZP schools in Maharashtra is not a new phenomenon. And for improving the conditions of the schools, the ZP has recently carried out an audit. After the structural audit, it has been decided that almost 131 unsafe schools to be razed and should be replaced with the new ones. Chintaman Vanjari, the district education officer has stated that the construction of the new building will commence soon after the assembly election.
He commented that after the audit, they found that the school buildings are in decrepit position and in need of renovation. And now all the identified buildings will be demolished. The fund for the project is approved and after the polls, they will start the work.
As per the report, the ZP has started the audit quite earlier in almost 1500 schools, which included the structural, financial and infrastructure aspects. And the audit was mainly intended to survey the current scenario of the ZP schools, and measures to be taken for its improvement.
