It was shocking news for the parents when they found that their kids have evicted from school after four months of their admission. As per the education department, cases from 60 schools have been reported so far and 650 children are affected as they are asked to cancel their admission and advised to take admission for next academic session.
And the point to be noted here is that the parents are wondering why their kid’s admissions have been cancelled and when they enquired about the matter, they have been told that it is because of Government Resolution (GR). But the reality is that the GR was issued on February 18, 2019, and on July 25, 2019. It has clearly indicated that what should be the age for getting admission in school.
According to the GR issued on February 18,2019 the minimum age for admission in class one should be six years and maximum 6 years,11 months and 29 days and it also mentioned that if the child is not fit in this category they should not be given the admission. And the minimum age for admission in senior KG is five years and maximum is 5 years 11 months and 29 days. And for KG-1 it is 4 years minimum and maximum 4 years 11 months and 29 days, and pre KG it is 3 years and for playgroup, it is 2 years. The GR which was issued on July 25, 2019, which has given power to Principals that they can give 15 days’ concession in age limit.
The district primary education officer Chintamani Vanjari has stated that the schools have flouted the rules of uploading the information of the students in education department’s web portal named’ Saral’.And quite naturally the students who have taken admission are beyond the age criteria got invalid thus cancelled. Despite all the discrepancies the state education department has not taken any action regarding this matter.
