The Swacch Bharat Mission in Nagpur is gearing momentum and the civic administration is making all the possible efforts to make the initiative a success in the city. Recently the civic chief has suspended twelve NMC employees for spitting on NMC office premises.The employees have got suspension orders after they were caught by the nuisance detection squad of the NMC. As per information, these employees were also charged with fine. Interestingly, this is reported to be the first incident when the civic body is taking action against its own employees for such action.
The NMC has constituted the nuisance detection squad with an aim to prevent people from littering in public. As per reports, almost 87 people are involved in this team. From September 11 to October 9 the team has taken action against 105 residents who were found spitting and urinating in open place in NMC headquarters. And in 15 cases were reported they collected Rs. 3000 fine for urinating in public places and Rs.9000 fine in 90 cases.
The civic chief has remarked that it is individual’s responsibility to make the city clean and maintain it in the right way. Also the employees of every organization should take the responsibility to make their working areas clean. He added that if anyone found making public nuisance they have to face strict action.
