India being the fastest growing country has started using different technologies. People now prefer going completely digital rather than buying products from the local market. The very use of digital platforms to buy and trade has many side effects as well.
Earlier people would prefer to buy things from the local market rather than buying the same products in an online sale to avoid any kind of fraud. But this has changed and the very digitization has proven to be a cause of doom for many local retailers as it is affecting their business on a larger scale.
Nagpur Mobile Dealers Association (NMDA) raised their concern on the availability of flagship phones of various companies available for sale through Online medium like Amazon, flipkart and other online dealers.
In a meeting organized by the Mobile dealer’s association on Thursday held at Glocal Square Mall where they shared their concern to the media. With the availability of these mobile phones through the online mediums we the local retailers are suffering a lot.
President of this association, Dilip Mathaijani informed that “we are surrounded in a web of online marketing and distribution of products at much cheaper rates, the customers looking after such deals choose to buy it through an online medium rather than from the local distributors.
We offer the same products at a same price but our market is on a constant doom. This is affecting our business as many big brands prefer to sell their flagship phone on online first as it has more response and we retailers have to wait for these products. We only demand that their should be transparency between online mode and local retailers so that no one should suffer”.
Speaking on the steps taken by the association Dilip added that we will be organizing rallies against these companies and will also write a letter to the Collector of Nagpur so that our demand could be reached to the government and they find a solution to our problems.
