City’s Shrawani Dudulkar emerged champion in the girls singles category in MSLTA-NDHTA Yonex-Sunrise All-India Ranking Championship Series (CS7) Tennis Tournament organised by Nagpur District Hardcourt Tennis Association at Ram Nagar court, here on Thursday. Second seed Shrawani was down 4-6 in the first set against her city colleague fourth seed Sejal Bhutada.
However, in the second set, she came back strongly mainly because of her powerful strokes and unforced errors of her opponent and restored parity by winning it 6.4 Â Both girls displayed their best and kept their cool. However, in the end Shrawani became the winner when she outplayed Sejal 6-2 in the third set.
In the Boys singles semifinals, third seed, Vivaan Karande from Maharashtra lost to second seed Dhiraj Reddy of Telangana 4-6, 2-6 while Kashit Nagrale beat fellow Nagpurian Achintya Verma 6-3, 6-1. In the boys doubles finals, Nagpur lads Kashit Nagrale and Achintya Verma beat Vivaan Karande and Dhiraj Reddy 6-4, 7-5.
Boys singles finals will start on Friday at 10 AM followed by prize distribution function. Director Finance, MOIL Rakesh Tumane will be the chief guest on the occasion.
