Recently the residents of Dubey Nagar have lodged a complaint of contaminated tap water to Orange City Water (OCW). The water is being noticed to have worms in it which are white in colour and are seen floating in the tap water. This tap water is supplied by corporation for a couple of hours in daily and that too filled with germs and other impurities.
  The water has become impossible to use and the worms were noticed during the morning time in a sieve while collecting the water. These worms are yellowish-white in color and are in good numbers, these worms are in every size small and large.
This is happening since last five days and the families have forced to seek an alternative way of collecting drinking water. Many of them have started buying water bottles everyday which is too costly and if we are already paying for the bottles then why should we pay for the water supply to the NMC, said one of the residents.
The incident was being neglected during the initial days as it had low amount of worms but by the passing time it started increasing. Also, as some of the residents use water filters so no big issue was noticed by the rest.
When the residents took the issue in their hands and came in contact with OCW and filed a complaint the higher authorities at OCW were seen taking the problem very casually. One of the authorities asked the resident to check their pipeline but the private plumber had already got the same complaints from the whole area, meaning there was no single pipeline which did not have rusted or contained worms in it. The plumber had this complaint from the whole residence and this has been an issue for over three days.
According to OCW they have received the complaint and are working on it. The authorities have been working on it and are trying to find out the problem by checking the water supply pipelines.
The officer claimed that the residents are not getting worms in their pipeline but still we are going to check the pipeline once we get permissions to dig. The OCW authorities also doubt that the sewer line might have got mixed with the water supply pipeline.
