Even after granting public holiday to the people to cast their votes in Assembly Polls 2019 to choose their leaders it was a slow start in Nagpur in the morning with a slow increase in the afternoon and evening.
According to the Election Commission of India (ECI) data on the Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections, till 6 pm, Haryana recorded 67.97 per cent. On the other hand, Maharashtra registers poor voting turn out with just 60.5%Â per cent. Voting is still going on, so the turnout is likely to rise. As many as 59 VVPATs and 19 EVMs were replaced in Nagpur district due to glitches as elections were underway. The VVPAT machines, 34 control units and 19 ballot units (EVMs) were replaced due to technical glitches in 12 assembly constituencies of the district.
In Nagpur, the different constituencies registered a good percentage of votes by the end of the day. Nagpur South West constituency closed with 47.75% of votes, while in Nagpur South 50%, Nagpur East 58%, Nagpur West 47%, Nagpur Central 47.93%, Nagpur North 48.54%, Hingna recorded 53.90% of votes, and Wardha 49.67% votes were registered. The result of both Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly Poll will be declared on October 24. In Maharashtra, the election was fought for 288 seats while in Haryana it was for 90 seats.
