“Articleship is the Soul of Chartered Accountancy Profession, make the best of itâ€, said CA Kavita Loya , first lady to be the Chairman of Nagpur Branch of WIRC of ICAI and a renowned CA of the city addressing the gathering of budding young students of the profession in the Seminar on ‘Workshop on Articleship’. The seminar was conducted by Nagpur Branch of WICASA of ICAI for students looking forward to starting their three years of journey of mandatory Articleship i.e., practical training. To guide the students for the same CA Kavita Loya, CA Nitin Alshi and CA Pranav Joshi, were invited to be the guest speakers and enlighten the important aspects of the journey.
Firstly, CA Nitin Alshi explained to students how the world is changing rapidly day by day. He advised students that, transform to outleap. He explained very well how the competition is rapidly growing and we need to adapt to the changing business environment. As survival of the fittest applies, he advised students to be disciplined, be conceptually clear, develops leadership and to be valuable to your clients. Then CA Pranav Joshi explained for selection of office he advised students don’t run behind perquisites or leaves or don’t follow the perceptions. Rather he told them to have a learning approach and to be balanced while judging.
He asked to visit the office once and learn the environment. CA Kavita Loya Spoke on the importance of ethical values in the Articleship. She quoted that it is not an internship but it is an apprenticeship. She advised students to maintain a give and take relationship and to be honest to their peers. She said to learn to deal with odd people and also added not to be impatient and to have a learning attitude. She emphasized on things that will give you comfort will not always give you growth. If you want to succeed you need to be out of the comfort zone.
Gracing the dais CA Abhijit Kelkar, Regional Council Member of WIRC of ICAI Commented that CA is the only profession where such serious practical training before qualifying exists. He advised students to be taskmaster and be a human relationship manager as well.
CA Suren Duragkar, Chairman of the Nagpur Branch of ICAI, in his brief remarks firstly congratulated team WICASA for conducting such a valuable seminar which is very beneficial for the students. He said that everyone is a student lifelong. If you want to excel in your life you must follow this learning attitude.
He further said that ICAI has designed CA Course in such a manner that you get all the practical training within three years of your articleship, which helps you in clearing your exam and also effectively work after you become CA.
CA Sanjay M. Agrawal, Chairman of Nagpur Branch of WICASA, in his opening remarks said that today’s’ seminar is a unique one, where students are going to witness a blend of knowledge, discipline and positive attitude from the three eminent speakers which is of utmost importance for the practical training. He said that the dress code of a CA is his ethical values.
This seminar benefitted all the students present on the occasion and guided them that how one should follow the road map of the CA Articleship. Prominently present on the occasion were CA Kirit Kalyani- Vice Chairman, Nagpur Branch of ICAI, CA Saket Bagdia- Secretary- Nagpur Branch of ICAI and CA Harish Rangwani- Executive Committee member Nagpur Branch of ICAI.
