A recent report of Make My Trip titled ‘Where will India stay on their next trip’, more than 48 percent of the surveyed are most likely to book an alternative accommodation including villas, apartments, home stays, hostels, cottages and farm stays for their next trip. It surely indicates that the emerging diverse stay experience, Indians are more attracted towards alternative accommodations.
Make My Trip Group COO Vipul Prakash has stated that the diversified offerings from the hospitality industry in terms of alternative accommodation options are playing an important role in meeting the evolving demands of travellers. For an upcoming trip, amongst the surveyed, 27 percent of respondents are most likely to book a villa, followed by cottages (26 percent), apartments (19 percent) and homestays (18 percent), the report revealed. The survey is a compilation of responses from 3,000 respondents across the country done between September and October 2019, among 18-55 years.
