Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s victory in Maharashtra Assembly Poll 2019 from his home ground Nagpur came out as a roller coaster ride for the Bhartiya Janta Party as the party managed to win only 6 out of 12 seats from Nagpur constituency on October 24. This Assembly election turned out to be an epic fight between Congress and BJP. But the unexpected happened when CM who was confident to win with more than 1 lakh votes had to satisfy with just 50,000 votes.
It was a close fight between many leaders in different constituency while many won with a big margin defeating their opponents and regaining their reign in the area. For many, it was quite a surprise as BJP’s leader Shrawan Teckchand Sawarkar from Kamthi constituency who replaced Chandrashekhar Bawankule and surprisingly won with majority votes of 1,18,182 defeating Indian National Congress candidate Suresh Bhoyar who received 1,07,066 votes.
This year the sudden increase in the None of The Above (NOTA) shows the anger of people towards the political parties. Nagpur South-West constituency from were Devendra Fadnavis contested out of total 1,92,118 votes  3,064 pressed for NOTA, this was the case in every constituency. In Nagpur Central 1,63,238 total votes and 2,149 NOTA were registered, Nagpur South  1,93,366 total votes were given while 2,353 NOTA were registered, Nagpur North 1,95,771 total votes with 1,986 NOTA were registered, Nagpur East 198641 total votes were registered with 3,460 NOTA, Nagpur West 1,78,469 total votes were registered with 3,717 NOTA.
