Recently the Nagpur city police crime branch conducted raids and seized material worth more than Rs.5.30 crore from gangster Santosh Ambekar and his gang. And police has registered three offences against eight of the gang members, also invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) against them.
As per information, the team of crime branch has conducted a raid at Ambekar’s house in Itwari and they seized five cars and four two-wheelers along with other movable valuables. As per sources, more arrests are likely to happen in the coming days. One of the bikes seized is worth around Rs.14 lakh and another one costs Rs.7 lakh. The police have so far seized valuables worth more than Rs.2.51 from Ambekar. They are also investigating the Ambekar’s property details in Mumbai, Bengaluru and other places.
Additional CP (Crime) Nilesh Bharne has said that the investigations so far unveiled that the Ambekar has done different methods of coercions for duping the businessmen like threatening and extortions. As per information, he forged the documents and records and amassed a huge amount of wealth without a valid source of income. As per reports, Ambekar has tricked not only the businessmen but women also.
Apart from Ambekar, the police have seized Rs.13.66 lakh cash from Juhi Choudhary, And 45 lakh seized from Arvind Patel. Ornaments worth Rs.1.36 crore and Rs.84 lakhs seized from Raja Armarkar.A money counting machine worth Rs.27000 seized from Ajay Patel. Earlier, the cops have arrested the Ambekar for cheating a businessman in a property deal. Bharne has stated that the move against the Ambekar and his gang is one of the biggest actions initiated in the state of Maharashtra. He also urged the complainants to come forward in this matter.
