It seems that the economic crisis in the country didn’t make much impact on the Nagpurians as the city market has gained a turnover of Rs 500 crore during the recent festivals. As per information during Diwali, the markets are flooded with customers especially in garments and crackers shops. Apart from these sectors, the automobile, jewellery, electronics too are experienced boom in sales. As per the reports, the highest turnover was registered in jewellery market, because Navratri and Diwali are considered to be the auspicious occassion for buying gold. During Diwali, the gold rates are touched the sky in  Navratri, people waited for the right time and purchased gold in Diwali. Rajesh Rokde, the gold market committee secretary has stated that the ongoing economic slow down did not affect the city customers as they buy gold and silver in large numbers especially on Dhanteras and Laxmi pujan. As per the reports, the jewellery market in city has secured almost 200 crores turnover, Though the exact details yet to receive, the jewellery market in city has secured almost 200 crores turnover .
Besides jewellery market, the electronics market also received good response from the customers. The market witnessed highest demand for LED television sets. And refrigerators, washing machines, AC, mobile phones, microwave oven all these products are in high demand in this season. The electonics market in the city contributed 50 percent share in the total turnover in Diwali season. One more sector which is recorded the growth in city is the automobile sector. Nagpur has showrooms of many automobile giants like Honda, Bajaj, TVS, TATA, Mahindra, Mercedes etc. The Navratri and Diwali made the market energetic, during this festive season more than 6000 bikes and more than 2000 cars were sold.
In fact, the overall market in the city has reaped high growth during this festive season.
