The IA&AD West Zone Carrom Tournament, organised by the Office of the Accountant General (Accounts and Entitlement) – II, Nagpur, will begin at AG office’s Multipurpose Hall on Thursday.
Principal director of regional training institute, Nagpur  Sheela Jog will officially inaugurate the tourney at 10 am. Teams of AG offices of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra will take part in the West Zone tournament that will conclude on October 2. About 60 players will be participating in men’s, women’s, and  veteran categories. Three international players –  Raju Bhaisare, Dilesh Khedekar and Jitendra Kale and 20 national players will be the main attraction of this competition. Matches will be held in four categories – men’s team championship, men’s singles, women’s singles and veteran singles.
Patron of the tournament  Accountant General (Accounts and Entitlement), Nagpur  L  Hangsing will give away the prizes to winners and runners-up on October 2. The tournament is being played as per the rules of All India Carrom Federation. Along with Raju Bhaisare, Nagpur team include Sudhir Bamburde, Rajesh Jambulkar, PB Ninave, Manoj Kotpallivar, NP Dhurve, Sushma Chowdhury and Kavita Nair.
