It has been reported that during the Diwali season of 2019, the Air Quality Index (AQI) of Nagpur city has been under good condition. The whole atmosphere has been satisfactory and at moderate level. In the state of Maharashtra state the worst air quality was seen at Kalyan even though Mumbai was marked as the safest city and pollution-free city during the festive season.
Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has released data that confirms that this year the state saw a cleaner air quality compared to last year. During day one of Diwali 2019, the AQI of Nagpur was 64 while in 2018 it was 135. Similarly, on the second day of Diwali 2019, the AQI was 73 and in 2018 it was 140.
On the day of Laxmi pooja, Solapur witnessed the worst air quality which was marked to be 115. This AQI is at a moderate level which is harmful to people around the location. This air quality will also cause breathing problems and is harmful to people having respiratory diseases.
