The increasing air pollution in Delhi is severely affecting the flights all across the country. This is the second day when the flight schedules were revised due to the smog in Delhi.
To add to the misery of the passengers’ as one of the runway at Mumbai airport is closed due to some repairs work. Several planes got delayed by one to two hours.
On Monday, 11 flights were delayed, due to which the passengers were trapped in the terminal building. Flights that got delayed include eight of IndiGo alone. Air India flight that takes off at 2 am to Delhi on Sunday and Monday got delayed by 45 minutes. GoAir’s Ahmedabad bound flight took off one-and-a half hour late for Ahmedabad. It takes off at 8.20 am.
Bengaluru-bound flight that takes off at 10.50 am started at 11.30 am. Delhi flight delayed by 50 minutes, which takes off at 1 pm. Chennai-bound flight got delayed by one-and-half hours, whereas, Kolkata-bound flight was late by 2.30 hours and Delhi-bound evening flight got delayed by one and a half hours.
On Sunday also, passengers had to suffer because of delay in the flights. The flights that arrived at Nagpur either directly from Delhi or indirectly reached city late. The flight that takes of from Nagpur at 10.30 am took off late by an hour. The Pune bound flight that takes off at 12.30 noon took off at 2.45 pm. The flight that departs at 7.50 pm for Delhi started at 8.50 pm. The Bengaluru bound flight took off at 10.30, a late by two hours of the scheduled departure. The plane that takes off for Delhi at 9.30 pm got delayed. Meanwhile, Air India flight that travels between Delhi- Raipur was diverted and reached Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport.
