The festive season definitely the rush hours for railway passengers and getting tickets in this peak season is also difficult. It has been reported that the Railway Protection Force(RPF) of South East Central Railway (SECR) division has taken action against around 105 travellers on forged Aadhaar cards. Providing forged Aadhaar cards to passengers is a crime. A case has been registered against the middlemen under the Railway Act 143.
Divisional Security Commissioner (DSC) Ashutosh Pandey has stated that a fine of Rs.1.17 lakh was also recovered from these passengers.
As per information, during Diwali vacation many agencies had booked many of the train tickets and allegedly sold it to the passengers in high rates with the forged Aadhaar cards. The list of the passengers includes 44 passengers in 12114 Nagpur-Pune Garib Rath and 61 passengers in 12290 Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express. After getting information, the SECR has done a raid on the two trains. A fine of Rs.50, 600 was recovered from passengers of Garib Rath while Rs.66, 500 was recovered from the passengers of Duronto Express.
