In recent updates received from Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) the cyclone Maha is said to be moving towards Gujarat due to which parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai and Pune, will receive thundershowers.
The weather department has even issued warnings of “heavy rain at isolated places†for November 6 for Palghar, Thane, Nandurbar, Dhule, and Nashik, following the movement of tropical Cyclone Maha towards Gujarat at a maximum speed of 100-110 kmph. Thundershowers are expected in Mumbai on November 6 and 7. It is also predicted that once the effect of Cyclone Maha start fading away, rains would also taper over the central Maharashtra region.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also warned of heavy rainfall in Pune and subsequent flooding in low-level areas as Cyclone Maha is set to make a landfall between Diu and Porbandar along Gujarat coast. With a wind speed of 190 km/hr-210 km/hr, the cyclonic storm is likely to cause “heavy to very heavy rain†in parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat over the next few days.
