Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) yet again failed to act responsibly towards its own citizens. Right after the state Government Issue the ownership certificates to the residents of Jattarodi, the NMC acted against it and has recently issued a demolition notice to the families living in this area.
This act has confused people of Panel 17 who were promised to have a permanent residency by the state government. The Corporator, Vijay Chutele along with its residents approached NMC headquarters and cleared the doubts. It was a real confusing state as the houses of Borkar Nagar, Barasingal, Chantoli and Basod Gully of Panel 17 in Jattarodi area have been marked as illegal constructions even though the state had given permission of ownership to the residents.
Chutele has requested Municipal Commissioner, Abhijeet Bangar to provide a temporary roof to stay under for the residents whose properties have been marked as illegal. In return, Bangar has not only promised to do the same but he even is supporting the residents and will be present in the high court during the dates.
It is also being noticed that many of the houses have already been demolished and many of the residents have been left homeless. This situation has forced the residents to live in open. Even in this case NMC has shown a latency in work when they issued a demolition notice after the demolition was done.
