The apex body of traders of Vidarbha – Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NCVV) recently conducted a seminar on ‘Child Labour Eradication Campaign’ to create awareness on child labour eradication. The event was organised by the Additional Commissioner of Labour, Nagpur.
The Labour Department of Government of Maharashtra is conducting a one-month long campaign on the topic. Vijaykant Panbude, Additional Commissioner of Labour, Nagpur gave a presentation on “Child Labour Eradication Campaignâ€.
He said that the initiatives have been taken by the Commissioner of Labour, Mumbai to conduct awareness with the help of traders and other stakeholders. A short video was played on the occasion and the message was spread that how one can save the child from becoming labour.
Panbude also informed the participants about various labour laws and the rights of children. Ujjwal Loya, Assistant Commissioner of Labour, Nagpur informed the participants about the “Child Labour Act.†Pawankumar Chavan, Government Labour Officer, was also present on the occasion.
Arjundas Ahuja, Vice President said that traders respect human values while doing business. Traders and workers employed in various shops and establishments complement each other, he added.
Past president of the chamber Prakash Mahadia, Treasurer Sachin Punyani, Joint Secretary Umensh Patel, Swapnil Ahirkar, Shabbir Shakir and others were also present on the occasion.
