~ After success with Zomato, MTDC collaborates with popular food aggregator Swiggy to promote local cuisines~
Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC)has signed an MoU with popular food aggregator Swiggy to reach out to more customers and increase foothold in promoting local cuisines and upsurge tourist traffic in Nagpur region.
“MTDC Orange†located at ‘Tourist Resort’ in Civil Lines is the first MTDC owned restaurant to receive its first order from Swiggy. Mr. Abhimanyu Kale – Managing Director, MTDCsaid, “As a part of our strategy to amplify visibility of the region, we decided to join hands with Swiggy and promote the local food and thus increase more tourist traction to the region. Local food is one of the USPs of Nagpur, and it continues to be in demand. We have introduced new food menus that will give tourists authentic experience of the local culture and heritage which they have never experienced before. Also, we have started new tour packages to suit the growing needs of new age travelers. We had a good presence in terms of popularity offline and wanted to further intensify the same online.â€
As the demand of orders for popular dishes from the restaurant’s chef owing to his unique style was ever increasing, MTDC decided to associate with Swiggy which is the country’s largest and most valuable online food ordering and delivery platform. Also, there are very few restaurants in the region that offer home delivery for food orders which was another reason for this strategic move.
Mr. Kale further added, “After having successfully associated with Zomato, we wanted to tap the online route again and Swiggy was our preferred choice. We are offering all kinds of cuisines at the MTDC Orange restaurant and the response has been outstanding. Saoji Mutton is quite a hit here. We are also planning to use this strategy in other regions as well in a bid to promote local food and culture.â€
