As per the directions given by the Court, Nagpur Municipal Corporation has been working to demolish the houses which fall under the High-tension Line. The houses in Giri Colony, Jatrodi area were demolished as a result many people became homeless.
On Friday, Mayor Sandeep Joshi visited the Giri Colony and interacted with the victims and has directed the slum department to give a new house to the affected people within 15 days.
Corporator Vijay Chutele informed about the problems of the citizens as many families have been homeless after the courts order. Families have come to the streets with no roof on their head.
Mayor has assured the citizens that they will get houses under BSUP Scheme with funding from Municipal and State Government. The kitchens, bedrooms, halls, toilets, electricity, water have been arranged in these houses.
He also directed that immediate action be taken to make the house available to the victims.
