Recently the Maha Metro has increased the speed of its Reach 1 route especially between Sitabuldi Interchange station to Khapri to 80km/hr.The CBTC system which was introduced by Maha Metro recently has proved beneficial as the system is really helpful in running trains one after another in minimum time. This system is modern and helps in operation of trains, speed determination, keeping minimum distance between trains and provide minute to minute update to pilot. Apart from this with the inclusion of CBTC all the system of train operations become integrated, in true sense a boon for the pilot and if the driver fails to obey the direction, it decreases the speed of the train by applying emergency brake.
As per information, CBTC system is linked with track, train and station and track side computer is installed in Khapri of Reach 1.After inculcating this system the running of metro trains become possible at the interval of 15 minutes.Maha Metro Managing Director Brijesh Dixit has said that CBTC system is safe and capable as trains can be run in the interval of three minutes. The system gives update of train ahead and its distance and speed. The prominent feature of the system is that it reduces the chances of accidents.
